(More customer reviews)I used this product years ago as a teenager.I was very skinny and this helped me add some overall weight.Something to keep in mind with most weight gainers (including this one) is that they are basically sugar based with some protein and vitamins thrown in.Maltodextrin, fructose etc. are all sugars of various forms- you'll see them on the label.With that in mind I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone who is already at a bodyfat level higher than 15% or so (i.e. those who can't see their abs) as this much sugar in a product is guaranteed to add some fat as well as muscle.To those with a super speedy metabolism the effect is minimized and carbohydrates (sugar) are protein and muscle sparing.
Also, if you are very budget minded, a good protein powder (bulk whey concentrate for example) mixed with table sugar will basically do the same thing and come out a bit cheaper.In fact, that way you can "customize" the ratio of protein to sugar based on your particular needs.But, if you are looking for something with a relatively cheap price (less than $5 per lb.) and pretty good taste, this may be a good product for you.

(More customer reviews)The product shipped to me was a newer version of MetRx than pictured by the company.I knowingly spent more money ordering from this company to get the specific type of MetRx. Had I known, I would not have purchased this in bulk.Also, one of the packets in the box was sliced open a little and there was powder everywhere.
The picture and the product shipped need to match!
The company was responsive and very good about it (they refunded my shipping).

(More customer reviews)I was looking to gain more muscle from my workouts, and picked this based on having tried the DESIGNER WHEY Protein 2GO Pak, Pomegranate Fruit, 10 Count .53 Oz Packets (Pack of 2).This also usesWhey protein (a must), and comes in reasonably mid-sized containers.Tasting reasonable without too many fake ingredients was also a requirement.
(seriously though, why do most protein mixes come in gigantic jugs the size of my head, or overpriced mini portions?)
This protein powder seems to work for me.I'd had trouble adding lean mass despite working out regularly, since getting enough protein from my diet usually meant getting too many calories.So, I stepped up my strength building, having a serving of this mix right after every workout and I've noticed a difference in how much muscle I've added since.
It mixes/dissolves reasonably well in a tall glass with a spoon (more so with room temperature water than with chilled).The directions recommend using a blender, but I've never bothered.There's a residue left in the glass but nearly all of it dissolves typically.The recommended serving mixed with 12oz of water tastes bland like skim milk.Far from repulsive, but not particularly yummy.I'd call the taste acceptable.
The sweetener used is oligofructose which seems to be more natural/healthful than the Aspartame-like sweeteners used in other products.
Recommended for building lean mass in combination with strength training.After going through 3 canisters, I'm going to keep using it.Recommended.

Not only does it contain 100% whey protein, it also contains other supplements which can further enhance results such as creatine, taurine, glutamine, leucine, isoleucine, valine. This product has been regularly advertised in magazines such as Muscle and Fitness for many years.
Each scoop contains a very high 26 grams of protein, 130 calories, 2 grams fat, and 2 grams sugars. There is about 7 grams of BCAA's per 2 scoops. Each scoop is 33 grams of powder and there are about 28 servings per container or if you double scoop about 14 servings per container.
The taste is great when mixed with milk. The vanilla flavor isn't so exciting when mixed with water but is still ok. Make sure to blend this in a blender for best taste. Or atleast use a shaker bottle to mix this with your drink, it wont be as good as blended but still ok. I wouldn't recommend mixing this with a spoon because it tends to get very clumpy and wont disolve thoroughly and doesn't taste very good. I've also tried the chocolate flavor and will say that the vanilla tastes better.
Results are good while using this product. I have gained many pounds of muscle in a few months. So far all my muscle groups have seen gains while using this product. Don't expect this product to be a miracle powder if you don't do the hard work necessary to gain muscle. For best results use before and after your workouts.

The taste is very good and while it is filling in the moment, I don't feel like it curbs my appetite for very long.
I would re-order at least one more time to give it a real chance.

The chocolate flavor isn't the best but is acceptable. Don't expect this to taste like nesquick or ovaltine or any type of chocolate milk you can think of. The chocolate taste is best when mixed with milk. The chocolate flavor isn't as exciting when mixed with water but is still ok. Make sure to blend this in a blender for best taste.
