(More customer reviews)I have been using Slimfast powders for years. I put them in my coffee (chocolate) and in the summer, in "health" shakes I make. They blend well plus I feel I am getting my nutrition. I like the taste of all of them!
A tip though: You can get these at Walmart for around $6 a can.

(More customer reviews)We figured hemp protein powder is hemp protein powder.But we did see another review that said Ruth's tasted better and had a nicer consistency to it.It was at a reasonably good price, so we got some when we got low on our previous brand.Ruth's hemp protein powder really does taste better than our previous brand, and is much more subtle in fruit shakes than the other.This is a very good product and as a result we've switched brands to this one now - what else can I say?!

(More customer reviews)I have been using Slimfast for quite a while as I have lost weight and now need to work at keeping healthy with my food choices.I used the Slimfast Optima in the cans for the longest time.They were fine but very bulky to purchase and store and though the drinks did fill me up for 4 hours as stated they weren't such a treat while drinking them.They tasted fine but were somewhat bland.
I ordered this powdered version for convenience sake.The order comes with 3 cans - 14 shakes per jar - for a total of 42 shakes.What a great deal!But most importantly I have the freedom to make the shakes to my preference for a treat just like a milk shake.With the directions they say you can just mix it with milk and drink.I don't recommend this - very boring.Definitely use a blender.I use the powder, ice and milk in the blender and add my favorite fruit as well.What I get is a frothy, tasty, cold delicious treat that I look forward to drinking.I savor it and it holds me over for 4 hours and is so preferable to the premade shakes in a can.
It is important to remember that no nutrition/diet item is a miracle worker.This product will give you meal supplements that you will love to drink but it still rests on you to make healthy choices the rest of the time.Slimfast does have great tools for free on their site to help you as you try to loose weight and eat healthy.
Highly recommend this product.

(More customer reviews)I got this as part of an Amazon special on SlimFast, and didn't look at nutritional data at the store ahead of time.For anyone else who wants more info before purchasing, I decided to provide it, as it doesn't appear in the item description at this time.
First, taste:Good chocolate flavor, a little sweet for my tastes. I bet that's why Diane Aliprandi's kids like it better than Carnation Instant Breakfast.:-)Anyway, I tend to be a little sensitive to the sweetness of things, so take that with a grain of salt.
This is bizarre, but I've noticed that it has a little bit of an odd smell to it.Not offensive, but lingering...??
Nutrional info (as packaged, not prepared)
Number of servings per container: 14 (1 scoop or 1/3 cup = serving)
Calories: 110
Cal from fat: 30
Total fat: 3.5
Cholesterol: < 5 mg
Sodium: 140 mg
Potassium: 200 mg
Total Carb: 13 g
Dietary Fiber: 4 g
Sugars: 6 g
Protein: 7 g
Vitamin andmineral content varies from 10% to 100% of RDA. Calcium is 20% and Iron is 30%.
The reasons I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 are (a) cost per serving, (b) the calories to protein & fiber ratio, and (c) the sweetness thing.
Another option to consider is Sugar Free Carnation Instant Breakfast Canisters, not always available in container packaging, but always available in packet form Carnation Instant Breakfast, Variety Pack, No Sugar Added, Carnation Instant Breakfast, Classic French Vanilla, No Sugar Added.The containers have 12 servings per container, 60 cal/serving, 0.5 grams of fat/serving, 12 g carb/serving, 4 g fiber/serving, and 5 g protein/serving.It is less expensive per serving than the SlimFast products (at least in container form), dissolves easier, and is sweetened primarily with Splenda.I find that it keeps me satisfied as well as anything else.I do, however, use 1-2% milk rather than skim when preparing it.Fat is definitely one of the keys to satiety, along with protein and fiber.
Update: Well, I now have to say that this does, in fact, keep me satisfied longer than Carnation Instant Breakfast.
